It’s Thanksgiving and I hope this note finds you and your loved ones happy and safe.
I am reminded especially this year, how thankful I am to be healthy and happy. A very close friend of mine was diagnosed with inoperable and incurable bile duct cancer. I sat with him and his wife yesterday, the day after Thanksgiving and we cried and we laughed. He does not know his time. It could be months or could be years, it’s in God’s hands.
If you’re reading this, I hope you take a minute to be thankful for your life. Look at all we take for granted. I hope you’re grateful for your health. I am. I’m grateful for my family, my home, my business and all the things that go with these areas of my life. I am thankful for the full moon beauty last night and the crisp feeling on my skin this morning. I’m thankful for Colorado’s beauty. I’m thankful for tons of things. Are you?
Obviously, I have regrets on how I’ve spent much of my time. In sitting with my friend yesterday, we recognized life is about making memories; some are bad, some are good. I can look back and think mostly happy memories and I hope you do too.
It’s funny in a way. I read this morning’s Gazette and it talked about the hustle and bustle of “Black Friday” shopping. I am going to challenge myself and everyone around me to not get caught up in that. Let’s think of the “Reason for the Season.” Let’s create memories that we can take with us.
I hope you have a Happy Holiday season and that you are thankful for the life and memories that you have.
Thanks,
Brian
