Tri-Lakes Real Estate

The Tri-Lakes area, amply named for its three lakes Woodmoor Lake, Monument Lake and Palmer Lake. The towns of Tri-Lakes inculde Monument, Palmer Lake and Woodmoor, which are situated at a high point between Colorado Springs and Denver. These 3 areas have been in existence forever. They are now joined by several newer areas that have linked it all together. Newer areas include Kings Deer, Jackson Creek, Higby Estates, Bent Tree, Santa Fee Trails and Red Rock Ranch to name a few. Home prices generally start in the low 200’s with small bungalows in Palmer Lake to million dollar homes in Kings Deer. Prices are determined by age, size and location.

More than 10,000 people reside in these communities. Despite the continuous population growth, residents continue to live by a small-town philosophy while enjoying the area’s rich heritage, excellent schools, top-rated healthcare facilities, and bustling industries.

The hub of the area is centered in Monument on the north and Jackson Creek Parkway. Shopping is plentiful with Lowes, Wal-Mart and King Soopers. Restaurant choices abound with small family owned restaurants to all the chains.

School District 38 is the schools of choice here. This award winning district has 2 high schools in the area, Lewis-Palmer High School and Palmer Ridge High School. Recreation includes the Woodmoor Country Club and hiking into the National Forest. The snow flies a little earlier up here as the elevation is between 7000-8000 ft.

Each Tri-Lakes community offers its own unique features. The town of Monument and Monument Lake were named after the nearby Monument Rock. In addition to this natural attraction, residents and visitors can enjoy small specialty shops and restaurants. Spectacular views attract many people to the Town of Palmer Lake. This quaint community has several walking trails and art museums as well as several restaurants inspired by international cuisines.

Tucked between Pike National Forest and the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, the Tri-Lakes area draws many people with its spectacular mountains, pristine lakes, and lush pine forests. Monument Lake, Palmer Lake, Lake Woodmoor, and other area parks provide numerous opportunities for boating, fishing, biking, hiking, and horseback riding. For golfers at every skill level, the Tri-Lakes region has four golf courses that blend into the surrounding natural landscape while offering a challenging game.

The U.S. Air Force Academy, located five miles south of the Tri-Lakes area, welcomes thousands of visitors every year to its facility and the stunning Cadet Chapel. Built in the 1950s and made of aluminum, glass and steel, this all-faith house of worship has 17 spires rising 150 feet above the ground. The building contains separate chapel rooms for Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish faiths as well as two all-faith worship rooms.

Approximately 5,000 students in the Tri-Lakes area attend schools in the Lewis-Palmer School District, which has been recognized for its outstanding exam scores. The majority of district students score consistently above the state average on proficiency exams in all skill areas.

This is the perfect community for commuters to Denver. It’s only 45 minutes to the south end of Denver. Its 15 minutes to Colorado Springs. Denver International Airport is 1 hour away.
